The development of chemical intuition in photochemistry faces several difficulties that result from the inadequacy of the one-particle picture, the Born–Oppenheimer approximation, and other basic ideas used to build models. It is shown herein how real-space approaches can be efficiently used to gain valuable insights in photochemistry through a simple example of red and blue shift effects: the double hypso- and bathochromic shifts in the low-lying valence excited states of (H2O)2. It is demonstrated that 1) the use of these techniques allows the perturbative language used in the theory of intermolecular interactions, even in the strongly interacting short-range regime, to be maintained; 2) one and only one molecule is photoexcited in each of the addressed excited states and 3) the electrostatic interaction between the in-the-cluster molecular dipoles provides a fairly intuitive rationalisation of the observed batho- and hypsochromism. The methods exploited and illustrated herein are able to maintain the individuality and properties of the interacting entities in a molecular aggregate, and thereby they allow chemical intuition in general states, at any geometry and using a broad variety of electronic structure methods to be kept and built.  相似文献

Synthetic arylamines and dietary phytophenolics could inhibit ferroptosis, a recently discovered regulated cell death process. However, no study indicates whether their inhibitory mechanisms are inherently different. Herein, the ferroptosis-inhibitory mechanisms of selected ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1) and two dietary stilbenes (piceatannol and astringin) were compared. Cellular assays suggested that the ferroptosis-inhibitory and electron-transfer potential levels decreased as follows: Fer-1 >> piceatannol > astringin; however, the hydrogen-donating potential had an order different from that observed by the antioxidant experiments and quantum chemistry calculations. Quantum calculations suggested that Fer-1 has a much lower ionization potential than the two stilbenes, and the aromatic N-atoms were surrounded by the largest electron clouds. By comparison, the C4′O-H groups in the two stilbenes exhibited the lowest bond disassociation enthalpies. Finally, the three were found to produce corresponding dimer peaks through ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry analysis. In conclusion, Fer-1 mainly depends on the electron transfer of aromatic N-atoms to construct a redox recycle. However, piceatannol and astringin preferentially donate hydrogen atoms at the 4′-OH position to mediate the conventional antioxidant mechanism that inhibits ferroptosis, and to ultimately form dimers. These results suggest that dietary phytophenols may be safer ferroptosis inhibitors for balancing normal and ferroptotic cells than arylamines with high electron-transfer potential.  相似文献

As a new type of quantum dots (QDs), hexagonal boron nitride quantum dots (BNQDs) exhibit promising potential in the applications of disease diagnosis, fluorescence imaging, biosensing, metal ion detection, and so on, because of their remarkable chemical stability, excellent biocompatibility, low cytotoxicity, and outstanding photoluminescence properties. However, the large-scale fabrication of homogeneous BNQDs still remains challenging. In this article, the properties and common fabrication methods of BNQDs are summarized based on the recent research progress. Then, the corresponding yields, morphologies, and fabrication mechanisms of these as-obtained BNQDs are discussed in detail. Moreover, the applications of these as-obtained BNQDs in different fields are also discussed. This article is expected to inspire new methods and improvements to achieve large-scale fabrication of homogeneous BNQDs, which will enable their practical applications in future.  相似文献

The intermolecular interaction determines the photophysical properties of the organic aggregates, which are critical to the performance of organic photovoltaics. Here, excitonic coupling, an important intermolecular interaction in organic aggregates, between the π-stacking graphene quantum dots is studied by using transient absorption spectroscopy. We find that the spectral evolution of the ground state bleach arises from the dynamic variation of the excitonic coupling in the excited π-stacks. According to the spectral simulations, we demonstrate that the kinetics of the vibronic peak can be exploited as a probe to measure the dynamics of excitonic coupling in the excited π-stacks.  相似文献

通过化学裁剪法打开碳纳米管获得了粒径一致、性能稳定、具有蓝色荧光的石墨烯量子点。该方法属于化学溶液法,具有成本低廉、工艺简单、条件易控等优势。将该样品与半导体聚合物按一定比例混溶,通过旋涂技术形成基于石墨烯量子点掺杂的聚合物复合薄膜,进而制成柔性存储器。该柔性可弯曲存储器具有低驱动电压、接近103的ON/OFF 比率、较好的循环次数,较好的重复性和稳定性。该研究结果为柔性有机存储器领域的研究展开了新的方向。  相似文献

Catalytic oxidation of methanol (MeOH) in the absence of noble metals and noble metal oxides as catalysts, and the use of metal-free materials are inexpensive and attractive process for practical use in electrocatalysis, sensors, and in direct methanol fuel cells. In previous works, it was found that the use of single-walled (SWCNT) or multi-walled (MWCNT) carbon nanotube paper electrodes instead of GC increases the catalytic efficiency of organic compounds oxidation in the presence of aromatic di-N-oxides by several times. In this work, the effect of non-covalent interactions on the catalytic efficiency of MeOH oxidation in the presence of 2,5-di-Me-pyrazine-di-N-oxide (Pyr1) in 0.1 M Bu4NClO4 solution in acetonitrile at SWCNT and MWСNT paper electrodes was studied by the methods of quantum chemical modeling, Raman spectroscopy, and using electrochemical data. New factors determined the features of mechanism of MeOH oxidation on CNT electrodes and lead to an increase in the catalytic efficiency of the electrode process in comparison with the GC electrode were established.  相似文献

A glass with CdS nanoparticles was used simultaneously as a matrix for Ce-doped garnet and a yellow-red phosphor to prepare luminescent glass ceramics for the sources of white light. CdS nanoparticles compensate for the unbalanced Ce3+ emission spectrum of the composite material due to the addition of a red component. Luminescent open-shell organic radicals have recently been regarded as one of the most potential materials in organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs). Herein, we have synthesized two new organic radicals, namely tris{4-[4-(tert-butyl)phenoxy]-2,6- dichlorophenyl}methane radical(TTM-O) and tris(4-{[4-(tert-butyl)- phenyl]thio}-2,6-dichlorophenyl)methane radical(TTM-S), by the substitution of chalcogen atom elements at the para position of conventional tris(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)methyl(TTM) radical moiety. Interestingly, both TTM-O and TTM-S exhibited significantly enhanced photostability compared with the unsubstituted TTM radical parent. Moreover, the chalcogen atom also had a crucial impact on the photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY) of the radicals, i.e., the PLQY of TTM-S was greatly enhanced compared to TTM radical while TTM-O was nearly non-emissive. Particularly, TTM-S showed intense PLQY of 37.54% and 185-fold longer photostability than that in cyclohexane solution of TTM.  相似文献

In the interstellar medium, the H2 adsorption and desorption on the solid water ice are crucial for chemical and physical processes. We have recently investigated the probabilities of H2 sticking on the (H2O)8 ice, which has quadrilateral surfaces. We have extended the previous work using classical MD and ring-polymer molecular dynamics (RPMD) simulations to the larger ice clusters, (H2O)10 and (H2O)12, which have pentagonal and hexagonal surfaces, respectively. The H2 sticking probabilities decreased as the temperature increased for both cluster cases, whereas the cluster-size-independent profiles were observed. It is thought that the size independence of the probabilities is qualitatively understood from the similar binding energies for all the three cluster systems. Furthermore, the RPMD sticking probabilities are smaller than the classical ones because of the reduction in the binding energies owing to nuclear quantum effects, such as vibrational quantization.  相似文献
